Bound Together Books is seeking new collective members. We are a volunteer-run collective (been going since 1976!), and we could always use more people to help us run the bookstore.
Why join?
- You get to work with a long-running, (in)famous and diverse anarchist collective;
- You get to meet a wide variety of customers and help spread anarchist and other subversive ideas and publications/
and, dear anarchist,
- You get a fabulous discount on stock.
Basic guidelines for membership:
- Please have a decent understanding of anarchist theory and practice, and a desire to spread this information. This does not mean you have to have read the complete works of Bakunin, but does mean you've at least read some anarchist lit. and could give a basic definition of anarchism to some average Joe or Jane off the street, and recommend some books;
- Be committed to membership in the collective (meaning, ongoing - not just dropping in and working once or twice);
- Be approachable and able to communicate easily with the public.
For more information, come in and speak to one of us at the store (1369 Haight Street, at Masonic), or call (415) 431-8355.

Wed, October 19, 2005 - 5:39 PMnot sure if there's a book about him, but do some research on Ammon Hennacy (sp?) - he was an anarchist pacifist in the u.s. believe he died fairly recently. there was a really good essay in an old issue of The Match magazine about him.
let's see, what else? for me, Starhawk's Truth or Dare was a big influence on my anarchism.
i'll see if i can think of more.
