Do you feel that the access to the internet makes these things more possible for a "preditor" who might not have approached a young person face to face? I could see the annonimity of the internet making someone bolder or giving them more opportunities to fool victims.

I just can't believe that he didn't even try to cover up who he was. I mean sending naughty photos to a "14 year old girl" with your work badge visable in the photo is kind of stupid. It's like he never read "Tips & Tricks To Being a Successful Pedophile".
